If you are interested in watching Internet Week NYC, you should know there are two different stages being livestreamed:
The IWNY sponsored by Motorola and Yahoo that features the more alternative, creative people involved in social media (like Gary V and Diesel).
The Mashable Media Summit is the other. Here you’ll see reps from the major brands that dominate their industries. Right now, Chris Bruzzo from Starbucks is talking about their partnerships and initiatives to insitgate change. Very insipiring.
The conference represents the standard business dynamic: entreprenenurial spirit v. corporate america. However, in the digital space, major corporations are forced to compete with the entreprenuer mentality.
The keynotes for Mashable will be exemplary of that. First up Pete Cashmore will be talking with the head of CNN.com about their new social media integration (which we first heard about at f8) and niche blogs. The later keynote is Alec Ross. Now you’re thinking, who the H is that? Me too. He’s Hillary Clinton’s Senior Advisor for Innovation, meaning, this guy’s job is to think ahead of people “think outside of the box.” In a way you have to feel sorry for this guy who must be ridiculously creative and is constantly restricted by government bs.
Both channels offer some really interesting perspectives and highlight people who are really at the top of their game.
