Shoe departments are flooded with square toe shoes marked with bright metal pieces.  It sounds good on paper…needless to say the room in the toe and thicker heel would make the shoe comfortable…but I am not a fan.  I think I would like the concepts separately, like in the Casadei stiletto or YSL flats, both of which have round toes.  The square toe is just so unflattering.  Paired with a thick heel, the shoe is overwhelming visually.
You’ll notice I don’t have photos from Lanvin, Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Sergio Rossi, or Givenchy because they don’t have these elements in their fall lines.
If I really wanted to incorporate the square metal toe into my wardrobe I’d choose the first YSL and pair it with skinny jeans and a chunky sweater.  I don’t think I would accessorize a dress with them because they would steal the ensemble’s feminine nature.  Possibly a high-waisted, full skirt, but not a suit. This style would steal your womanhood with a suit.
Now, are you curious to see what trends I did buy?? :)
