“I started The Sartorialist simply to share photos of people that I saw on the streets of New York that I thought looked great. When I worked in the fashion industry, I always felt that there was a disconnect between what I was selling in the showroom and what I was seeing real people wearing in real life.”
The Sartorialist’s first solo exhibit is now at Danziger Projects in Chelsea. I went this weekend. Pretty good.
What a great idea! I love people watching, and have often wished they wouldn’t think I was creepy if I took their picture simply for looking interesting (in a good or bad way). Their outfits make the picture…this is what I mean when I say that we should construct outfits daily = people are “taking pictures” of us as they pass, and I don’t know about you, but I want to look interesting.
