My handbook to discovering Asia
Visiting cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Bangkok could have been a complete disaster had we not brought along Luxe Guides ($9.99) for each.  These are not your standard Fodor’s, Michelin, Lonely Planet type 400 page books.  In these fold-out, panel “brochures,” you’ll find the EXACT information on where to go, stay, eat, drink, and dance like a local.  Literally,...

Savory crockpot chicken you can serve even in...
I know it’s a little late to be posting this kind of dish with spring happening, well, right now (I wanted to post it weeks ago, but as you know the blog was down.)   I’m thinking we can make it work for warm weather by lightening it up with fresh veg. For this recipe, “Provincial Chicken Stew,” I left the skin on the chicken, so it was too greasy to be a stew.  ...

Toning Up With Angles and Reps: Triceps/Saggy Arm...
Because of my workout routine that involves spinning, weights, and yoga, my triceps get a lot of attention.  That being said, most of those workouts only tone two of the three parts of the muscle. I’m sure you’ve noticed the inside of your upper arm is hard to target and therefore stays soft and flabby.  I’m not saying I have the answer for that, but Cederick’s exercises...

Before she was the "Sexy Siren" of Hunger Games
Before she was the “Sexy Siren” starring in Hunger Games as Glimmer, Leven was my cutie pie little sister! Well, she still is, but she’s so grown up now! It’s so funny, we she was really little, she was super shy.  Then, she hit middle school, and all of a sudden she was the star of the school plays. One demo reel later,  she was instantly off to LA for audition season. She landed her second...

What to pack when you don't have time to think
I’ve been in this situation a million times so I can tell you it never gets any easier. Usually when the clock strikes 11 the night before I leave,  I see my empty suitcase, and I just melt. Sh!t.  “I’ve saved packing until the last minute, and I can’t take everything I want to in that little f-ing carry-on,” I think to myself. When it seems like there is no hope in...

The New LA Restaurant Hit List
As much as I love the classics (original Katsuya, Trattoria Amici, Pace, Matsuhisa, Spago, Urth, Beverly Hills Hotel, Mozza etc.  See some of my recs here.), I am always seeking out the newest foodie hotspot when I visit Los Angeles. A couple months ago I wrote “5 Restaurants That Get Locals Out of Los Angeles,” all of which would align with the “Casual City” section of...

My favorite performances at #SXSW
I saw at least 15 bands during the conference and Zeale was BY FAR my favorite! He played at the CNN Grill and brought the house down, yo. If it wasn’t so dark in there you could see me “dominating” the dance floor in front of the stage with Mandy who got her gig on.  You can actually hear me screaming “woo hoo” around 4:04. LOL.  He had such a great energy, not...

You can shop my closet anytime now @Threadflip
Instead of waiting for one of my seasonal sales, you can now buy my favorite clothes I’m selling at ThreadFlip.com/MaryRambin.  Lots of great designer stuff (Above are Frendi shoes and an Ungaro blouse) and other trendy pieces too. My friend and domestic goddess blogger Brit Morin introduced me to Jess, the founder of Threadflip after hearing about my spring cleaning sales on my tumblr. ...

Alive after the crash of 2012
Again, apologies for the inconvenience! And for the terrible hair night ;) UPDATE: I spoke too soon. (SH!T) I can’t upload pictures for some reason so I have someone working on that. Must have happened in the WordPress update.  Let me tell you this much….the back-end of building websites absolutely sucks. Original Article

OMG I want to surrender!!!!!!
My accounts have been hacked, my computer is crashing, my internet is spotty, and I just can’t take it anymore! All of this frustration is to keep alive a blog that no longer generates revenue.  But I just can’t let it go.  It would be like letting down friends I’ve had for years.  You all are so appreciative of the effort I put in, that’s really enough for me. That being...

Happy Monday everyone.  I wish it was going well on my end….. As you may or may not know, I’m having major problems with my WordPress and possibly some security issues. Right now I’m going to redirect MoreThanMary.com to my tumblr so you can continue reading while we’re under construction. The only thing this means for you is that you won’t have direct access to my...

Angles and Reps: Toning Your Inner Thighs Edition
This round of exercises from Cederick my trainer proved to tighten my inner thighs in 2 weeks!  Remember, I also spin, do yoga, and lift regularly, as well as eat with a healthy conscious so that all helps too :) You’ll notice most of the movements are the same as what you would do to work your glues.  The difference is the positioning of your feet and your focus. The challenge here is to...

Where to start with #SXSW
For the past 3 days I’ve been at the “South By Southwest” Conference in Austin, Texas. Basically, the purpose is for “indie” film, music, and interactive people to come together, pitch their work, and hear from the leaders in their respective industries. Like with any other conference, it’s all about networking in the right places. As a third year veteran, I...

Favorite snack right now
Can’t get enough!  They’re like natural fruit roll ups.  (Don’t lie, you know you miss them.) We don’t have a Trader Joe’s in Houston so I stocked up when I was in Cali over the holidays. I’ve been thinking about getting a dehydrater to make my own fruit snacks.  I love apple chips too.  Thoughts? Original Article

Real Simple and natural cleansers for your home
Don’t ask me why, but when I turned on the tv and Regis and Kelly was on (what do they even call that show now that he’s left) on Monday, I didn’t bother to change the channel. Maybe it was a sign I need to switch out my 409 and Windex to natural alternatives….or I need to take a trip to some random resort in Utah. Enough daytime babble, here’s what I learned from...

Cutting Mason's toenails isn't so bad anymore.
I’m not going to tell you that Mason and my Dad’s dogs LIKE having their toenails clipped, but they NEED it done often.  I guess I feed them so well that their little nails grow fast! The more I do it, the less resistance I get. I would have never even attempted cutting Mason’s nails before making this video for TMIweekly. If you’ve got a small dog, check it out, her...

Skincare products I'm loving right now
In the past I haven’t been a fan of wipes, but these Neutrogena wipes (that smell amazing) are perfect for a quick cleansing in the morning and after a workout. I rip the massive sheets into three strips so they last longer.  Afterwards I moisturize with lotion immediately because they dry my face up quickly. As for the Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer, I’ve been using it for years. ...
