Skinny Cargo Jeans. Hmmmm......
Are you going to be marching in line with the trendsetters this fall and finally squeezing into a pair of skinny cargo pants? Here are my thoughts: Cargo pants are supposed to be comfy and casual, so making them tight really defeats the purpose.  So if you do adopt the trend, don’t grab the skin tight pair, give yourself room to breath. There is always a more attractive option so why not...

Latisse works!!!
[caption id=”attachment_1986878154” align=”aligncenter” width=”500” caption=”Jen’s eyes after 2 months of Latisse”][/caption] Latisse works!!! Seriously. My blonde, blue-eyed friend Jen used it and her lashes look AMAZING!  She was skeptical of the product because she has blue eyes, but she heard about a new way to apply the gel to protect...

Life's challenges....
In my spinning classes I always tell my riders that they have come to class for many reasons, only one of which is to work hard.  Instead of mentally fighting the struggle of exercise, revel in it.  You know there is satisfaction and reward on the other side, so enjoy the journey and appreciate the strength you’ve built for yourself.  Instead of being complacent, you are here because you...

Supercharge your squats!
If you’re working out this week, chances are you’ll be doing squats at some point. You could do the same movement you do all the time, or you can challenge yourself to add a little power and jump up instead of just standing. Here’s what you do: Stand with your feet hips width apart, shoulders back, core engaged. Put the pressure in your heels and sit down low. Rising up,...

You'd never know it's vegan because...
Well, the recipe below isn’t. It was a toss up which recipe I was going to blog and I chose the veggie one, not the vegan. Risotto can be vegan, but the recipe below calls for cheese. My apologies for poor editing. Many thanks to Martha for kindly bringing this to my attention. Happy cooking!

My latest travel feature for The Houston Chronicle.  It’s NYC 101, but an interesting concept on how to explore the local culture without sweating through your jersey dress.

I personally can’t remember the last time I bought something there, so I’m cool with Dov going under.  Not that I know him personally, but he just seems like a jackass.

Viceland takes you inside New York’s first legal distillery since prohibition.  Check out Dave and Colin’s operation they run out of a warehouse in…guess which borough….yep, Brooklyn.  (You know that’s where are all the cool kids live!)  Seems like every man’s dream would be to make his own bourbon. As the boys keep at it, Kings County Distillery is slowly but...

Throw the beans, a pinch of...

What matters more - quality or quantity?
Why does the quality of a YouTube video look like something uploaded from Mars in comparison to the crystal clear image on Vimeo? And if we all agree this is the case, then why don’t the masses use vimeo? It’s that whole Google thing isn’t it… No one cares about the audience anymore, all about the bottom line. What do you use?  Vimeo or YouTube?
